Your Questions, Answered

  • Subspace Signals is a website for science fiction fans who enjoy sci-fi books, movies, and TV.

  • Subspace signals is the brainchild of science fiction author D.F. Pieper. The Devourer Trilogy by D.F. Pieper is pretty good. You should check it out.

  • When I was a kid in the '80s, there was a magazine called Starlog. It featured articles about upcoming sci-fi blockbusters. Starlog is no longer published, and I don't have the money to buy the rights, so I did the next best thing.

  • No. But somehow that hasn't stopped me from writing books. Check out the Devourer Trilogy by D.F. Pieper.

  • Well, here's the thing. I don't do reviews. At least, I don't review anything right now. May add reviews at a later date, but right now I only report on newsworthy books, movies, and TV shows. I might report on critic's reviews occasionally. Of course, if it warrants a critic's review, it's probably pretty popular or newsworthy.

  • All of the above!

  • No. I don't include spoilers. I also don't plan to. We’ll see if that changes in the future, but if you are a time traveler, don’t spoil it for me.

  • Yes. I often do.

  • If you are interested, just use the contact form on this page. I will consider guest posts or collaborations specific to science fiction books, movies, and TV. If it's not about that, it's not right for this site. Guest posts are not paid. In exchange for a guest post, you will receive credit for your writing and backlinks to your site.

  • I will occasionally respond to comments. Regarding the comments policy, this is supposed to be a happy place, folks. Offensive, malicious, or threatening comments will be deleted and the user will be blocked. If there's any of that business, I will disable comments and everyone must take a time out and you will get no dessert.

  • Well, I don't do reviews right now and I haven't received any ARCs or screeners yet, so... no?

  • Before I answer this one, I should state that this is a blog that is intended to be profitable and support itself. So, one of the best ways to do that without charging the reader is through affiliate programs. Affiliate links are indicated and any advertising is clearly delineated from other content. Content is never written or published with the sole purpose of promoting a product or service. Articles here are intended as real reporting on information that readers and users are already seeking according to the data that is available for this site.

  • Ads, yes. Sponsored content, no. Ads are clearly delineated from other content so that reader won't confuse ads for content. At this moment, there is no sponsored content. Sponsored content may be considered in the future, but it will always be clearly labeled.

  • We only publish content about science fiction. Science fiction with horror, fantasy or other genre's elements are welcome, but the work must be mostly science fiction.

  • This is a family-friendly site for the most part. Dysfunctional families who say bad words and drink and skip church are welcome too. I don't publish gross stuff, nor do I talk about naughty stuff. However, I won't say that any of the works reported here won't have those things. For instance, the Alien franchise can get pretty gross. I like the Alien movies and I'll report on them, but I won't show or go into detail about the gross parts here. How about that?

  • All subgenres are welcome. I will say, regarding Cyberpunk, that Billy Idol had an album called Cyberpunk. It was terrible. I won't be reporting on that.
